Copyright and image removal
How to have an image or text removed, including when the subject never agreed to it.
Two different reports
One is a copyright claim: you own an image or text and it was published here without your permission. The other is an image of you published without your agreement, whoever owns the file. Both are handled, and the second is handled faster, because consent is the thing that cannot wait for a discussion about ownership.
If a photograph of you is here without your agreement
Send the address of the entry and say which images are of you, to [email protected], or use the report link on the entry itself. Mark it urgent.
The entry is hidden while the report is examined. You do not need an account, you do not need to prove ownership of the file, and you do not need to explain why. This is the one route on the site where action comes before the conversation.
If you own the image or the text
Send to [email protected]: the address of the page it appears on, enough detail to identify which material is yours, where it was originally published or how ownership can be checked, and how to reach you.
Say plainly that you believe the use is unauthorised and that what you are telling us is accurate. A claim without enough to identify the material cannot be acted on, and we will come back asking for the missing part rather than closing it.
What happens next
Material that clearly should not be here is removed. Where it is not clear, the person who published it is asked, and the material stays hidden while that happens. Every step is recorded against the entry so that the decision can be traced afterwards.
If an entry was hidden and the report turns out to be mistaken, it goes back up. A report made in bad faith to take down a competitor is itself grounds for action.
Photographs the site publishes
Every image here is uploaded by the person it shows and served from this domain. Nothing is pulled from another site, and no photograph is published that its subject has not agreed to publish. That agreement can be withdrawn later, and withdrawing it removes the images along with the entry.
